The team over at Frogwares have been working on an updated version of Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, which first released in 2006. The Awakened is a full remake, which is being rewritten and rebuilt in Unreal Engine 4.
An Eldritch god-obsessed cult is making moves in the shadows to bring about a world-altering prophecy and it’s up to the young detective duo to thwart their plans. This is a creative take on what horror-filled and reality-breaking events could have met our heroes at such a crucial point in their lives to go on and shape them into the characters we all know they become. Delve into the trauma and fear that cements their friendship for good and the revelations that break Sherlock’s mind to create the flawed and haunted genius he is destined to be.
With a brand-new trailer now released, the game is looking absolutely beautiful. The trailer showcases dark and murky atmospheres across different countries and continents, but it seems that with this Cthulhu horror adventure, players will be looking into finding out the truth.
While Sherlock begins to question the world, and his mind, will he be able to solve this mystery before he falls deeper into the abyss and loses himself? I suppose we’ll find out, as Sherlock Holmes The Awakened will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. As for the release date, the planned date is for February / March 2023 release window, but there is currently no solid date due to the on-going crisis in Ukraine.
