The Elder Scrolls Online is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X

It seems that Bethesda has just announced that both DOOM Eternal and The Elder Scrolls Online would be coming to the next generation consoles, with free upgrades for players that have the copies on the PS4 or Xbox One. In their newest announcement they state that both titles would come with a list of enhancements and improvements coming to both consoles, with the full announcement stating the following:

“Players who own or purchase either title on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade for free to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions, respectively, when those versions are available. Additionally, our teams are working hard to ensure both titles will support backwards compatibility when the new consoles launch.

We’ll have more information to share in the coming weeks and months about The Elder Scrolls Online and DOOM Eternal on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 including expected release windows and a list of enhancements. And while we don’t have any news to share just yet on our remaining catalogue of titles, we can confirm we are committed to offer free upgrades for current generation console owners of existing Bethesda titles we bring forward into the next generation of consoles.”

Of course there’s no mention of other Bethesda titles such as Fallout, or even a new version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – because that’s just the norm with that game, release on any and all platforms or perish. But for now, this is all that’s publicly known. Bethesda does finish its announcement stating that there will a livestream on their official twitch page for QuakeCon At Home on August 7th – August 9th for more information on the latest Bethesda titles, so that could be a bit of a hint for more information. Maybe.
